Job Title: Harmony Breakdown Artist & Character Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Harmony Breakdown Artist & Character Designer to join our team at Blue Zoo Production. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for designing the style, appeal, and persona of characters in our productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop characters based on story requirements and briefs
  2. Research and explore characters through reference and concept development
  3. Create character turnarounds, pose sheets, and other visual aids
  4. Collaborate with the rigging team and animation director to ensure designs are suitable for rigging and animation
  5. Work closely with the team to interpret assigned concepts and support other members as needed
  6. Manage assets and time efficiently to meet deadlines
  7. Respond positively to feedback and notes

Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of tools and software such as Cintiq, Photoshop, and Harmony
  • Solid digital drawing skills and previous character design experience
  • Adaptable to different styles of show
  • Brilliant creative flair and excellent eye for colors and value structure
  • Strong perspective drawing skills and ability to draw consistently on-model
  • Able to convey emotional and physical traits of a character through exploratory design
  • Understanding of animation principles and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team player and take direction from the Art Director

Bonus Points:

  • Professional experience in rigging, design, storyboarding, or animation
  • Knowledge of the 2D animation workflow
