About the Role
Acklam Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients under the direct supervision of the Nurse Practitioner Partner.
- Ensure patient comfort and relaxation during the blood collection process.
- Accurately label and store blood samples in appropriate containers.
- Dispatch blood samples to laboratories in a timely manner.
- Record blood collection in patient records according to practice procedure.
- Notify GPs or nurses of any significant patient issues.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
- Phlebotomy qualification or training.
Essential Experience
- Working in a GP Practice.
- Working as a Phlebotomist.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in using SystmOne.
