About the Role

Acklam Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients under the direct supervision of the Nurse Practitioner Partner.
  • Ensure patient comfort and relaxation during the blood collection process.
  • Accurately label and store blood samples in appropriate containers.
  • Dispatch blood samples to laboratories in a timely manner.
  • Record blood collection in patient records according to practice procedure.
  • Notify GPs or nurses of any significant patient issues.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Phlebotomy qualification or training.

Essential Experience

  • Working in a GP Practice.
  • Working as a Phlebotomist.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in using SystmOne.
