**Job Role:** Accounting and Compliance Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Compliance Lead to join our team in Hartlepool. As a key member of our Accounts department, you will be responsible for leading the accounting and compliance functions of our civil engineering business.

The ideal candidate will have a senior level accountancy background, with managerial experience and a proven ability to enhance reporting processes and strengthen internal controls. A professional Accountancy qualification such as ACCA/CIMA/ACA is essential.

You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting and compliance functions of our business, including budgeting, forecasting, working capital and cash management. You will also be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations.

In addition to your financial expertise, you will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to drive meaningful improvements across all areas of the business.

The salary for this role is estimated to be between £50,000 to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience level, with additional benefits including annual leave, annual bonus, car allowance, private medical, generous pension scheme and hybrid working options.
