Environmental Compliance Specialist

Salary:£12.50 per hour, with opportunities for overtime.
Key Responsibilities:Environmental Law Enforcement:- Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns.
- Patroli assigned areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
- Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints.
- Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws.
- Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with issued notices and take further action if necessary.
- Investigate environmental offenses such as illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and unlawful waste disposal by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case files.
- Use surveillance equipment, including cameras, to monitor and collect evidence of environmental crimes.
- Report findings to senior management and collaborate with legal teams to pursue prosecutions when necessary.
- Prepare case files for prosecution, including collecting evidence, photographs, and witness statements.
- Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders.
A full UK manual driving licence is required for this role.
