Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our community mental health team in Kent and Medway. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively with other consultants to deliver high-quality care to patients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of psychiatry, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex cases. You will also be able to demonstrate your commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.

About the Role
  • To provide clinical leadership within the South Kent Coastal Community Mental Health Team alongside two other Consultant colleagues.
  • To provide medical input as required to patients under care of the Community Mental Health Team
  • To be actively involved in strengthening relationships with external agencies including the local CCG.
  • To take an active leadership role in screening of referrals as well as assessment of new referrals jointly with other team members
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
