About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Coordinator to join our dedicated Care and Support team in Durham Region. This role involves providing essential support to young families within a supportive housing environment, helping them towards independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Activity Planning: Plan and run activities to engage residents, improve social connections, and support personal development.
  • Client Onboarding: Process new referrals, assess client suitability, and manage onboarding.
  • Support Planning: Work closely with residents to develop person-centred support plans and hold regular progress meetings.
  • Property Management: Oversee property management, compliance, and health and safety at the site.
  • Collaboration: Attend multi-agency meetings, providing updates and written reports on cases.
  • Financial Support: Assist with income maximisation and help residents access welfare benefits.
About You

You will have experience working with vulnerable client groups, a strong understanding of adult and child safeguarding, and a supportive, non-judgemental approach. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for occasional outreach work across County Durham. The role requires flexibility, emotional resilience, and the ability to work independently when needed.
