Job Title: Buyer / Assistant Buyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer / Assistant Buyer to join our team at Cameron Clarke Associates. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing construction materials for our clients.

About the Role:
  • Procure and purchase construction materials from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of purchases, including invoices and receipts.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure materials are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings.
Requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Knowledge of the COINs procurement system is advantageous, although training will be provided.
Desirable Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of construction materials, including concrete road kerbs and slabs, precast concrete drainage, clay drainage, and plastic plot drainage.
  • Knowledge of insulation, reinforcing mesh and bar, and general merchant materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
