Ophthalmic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Ophthalmology to join our Multidisciplinary Team. As a senior member of the Nursing Team, you will be expected to co-ordinate the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs of care for patients requiring ophthalmic care.
You will be expected to act as a role model for nursing and non-nursing staff and work with the Multidisciplinary Team ensuring a high standard of holistic care is maintained for all patients and families.
Main duties of the jobKey responsibilities include:
- To practice autonomously as an Ophthalmic Clinical Nurse Specialist within the department
- To assess, organise and prioritise care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision
- Act as a role model setting standards of practice while promoting clinical expertise.
Qualifications:
- RN /RSCN Diploma or equivalent
- Degree or working towards
- Post-registration qualification or evidence of further study
- Teaching and assessing qualification 998 /997 / mentorship or equivalent
Requirements include:
- Speciality knowledge and experience
- Basic knowledge of financial management within the clinical setting.
- To complete the Trust toolkit competencies
- Relevant Post Registration clinical experience
- Initiation and implementation of change
- Clinical Nurse Specialist mentorship and development
- Countess 20:20 Leadership Programme
