About Our Team

\

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital's Oncology and Haematology department requires a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join their team.

\

This role involves ensuring the efficient dispensing of systemic anti-cancer treatments and supportive care for patients on Weybourne Day Unit (WDU), Mulbarton Ward, Acute Oncology Service, and Macmillan Cancer Care Unit.

\

The successful candidate will work closely with the Oncology and Haematology pharmacy team, supporting all specialist clinics, and managing patients under home-care services.

\

Responsibilities include reducing wastage through timely returns and appropriately recycling unused treatments, stock management of high-cost drugs and compassionate use agents, completing medication reconciliations at ward level, resolving patient queries, and liaising with patients or their representatives directly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely provision of cancer treatments and supportive care to WDU\
  • Reduction of wastage of dispensed treatments to WDU\
  • Checking and stock maintenance of pre-filled syringes on WDU\
  • Expansion of homecare services for selected oral treatments\
  • Dispensing of inpatient, outpatient, and discharge prescriptions\

Requirements

  • \
  • BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences\
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council\
  • Accredited checking Technician for final checking of dispensed medicines\
  • Patient counselling training\
\

Salary: £29,000 - £36,000 per annum
