About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to join our client, a reputable Main Contractor with a legacy of over 50 years in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project's cost management, including preparation and management of budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Manage all aspects of the project's cost management, including preparation and management of budgets, cost plans, and forecasts. Ensure project costs are monitored and controlled effectively to deliver within budget.
  • Valuation & Payment: Prepare, submit, and agree on interim valuations, including payment applications, variations, and final accounts. Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Contract Administration: Provide expert advice on contracts, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations. Manage the procurement process, negotiate contracts, and manage contractual relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks, ensuring that potential issues are mitigated early. Provide strategic advice to the project team on cost-related risks.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial and progress reports to the project team and senior management. Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Site Collaboration: Work closely with the site management team to ensure that project delivery aligns with the financial objectives. Attend site meetings, provide financial updates, and support decision-making processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment of project goals. Maintain positive working relationships to facilitate smooth project delivery.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of Quantity Surveying experience on large-scale, complex construction projects, particularly in mixed-use and residential developments.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. RICS accreditation or similar professional qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in cost management software and tools. Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a project team, providing financial leadership and support to achieve project goals.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in a fast-paced construction environment.
