Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Inpatients

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our inpatient team at the Broadoak Unit in Liverpool. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients on Harrington ward, a female general adult ward with 17 beds.

The post is one of three inpatient Consultants at Broadoak Unit, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built hospital in South Liverpool, which will replace Broadoak unit once completed.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership to the team, carrying out comprehensive risk assessments, and participating in Trust's risk management processes. You will also be required to provide verbal and written evidence to Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Manager's hearings.

About the Role
  • Provide medical leadership to the team and carry out comprehensive risk assessments
  • Participate in Trust's risk management processes, including Health Risk Assessment and Management and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangement Meetings
  • Provide verbal and written evidence to Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Manager's hearings
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and the code of practice

Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • Approved under S12 or ability to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Transport
  • Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence or provides evidence of proposed alternative
