Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced project manager to join our environment team to coordinate proposals and projects from inception to delivery and successful outcomes for our clients.

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible contribution to wide-ranging UK domestic environmental policy across climate and environment, natural environment, marine and fisheries, and food and farming sectors.

You will be part of a team that works closely with clients to manage the quality of evidence that informs UK-wide environmental policy across a broad range of topical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bring together teams of experts to deliver environmental monitoring and evaluation studies in the UK relating to the natural environment, climate, marine conservation, and fisheries.
  • Lead proposal preparation and submission, including budget development and contract review, management of quality, risk management, budget control, performance review, client feedback, and liaison throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring financial, contractual, and other obligations are achieved in accordance with agreed terms and ICF quality standards.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure high-quality project delivery that meets client needs, on time and within budget.
  • Work flexibly and adaptively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple small to mid-sized projects on a large framework.
Requirements
  • A strong track record in bid and/or project management of environmental projects or monitoring and evaluation projects, working as a project and/or bid manager.
  • Experience of project and bid management in a consulting or similar project-based environment.
  • A keen interest and experience of working in the environmental, natural sciences, or social sciences/policy sectors.
  • Experience of consulting for UK government clients (e.g. Defra, Natural England, MMO, Environment Agency, FCDO).
  • Strong project management and commercial skills, expertise in business or programme leadership, ability to manage and deliver projects from inception to completion.
  • Well-honed interpersonal skills, ability to build collaborative teams, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
