Palliative Care Consultant

Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic consultant to join their specialist palliative care team. The successful candidate will work across community and hospice sites, providing high-quality medical services to patients with specialist palliative care needs. This is a fixed-term locum post covering maternity leave, offered on a 10PA basis with flexibility to pursue personal areas of interest.
Job DescriptionThis role involves supporting the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team, attending weekly hospice MDTs, and participating in Gold Standards Framework meetings. The post holder will also provide clinical supervision for FY2/IMT trainees and have access to office accommodation with secretarial support. Expected workload includes shared care of up to 14 inpatient beds at Wakefield Hospice and advice/support to the community team.
Requirements- Evidence of completion of approved training in palliative medicine or within 6 months of completion
- Experience working in palliative medicine in hospice, hospital, and community settings
- Demonstrated ability to lead education and training programs
