**Job Description:**

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced consultant to join our specialist palliative care team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality medical service to patients with specialist palliative care needs, working across both community and hospice sites.

The post holder will be based at Pinderfields Hospital and will attend the weekly hospice MDT. They will work alongside 4 consultant colleagues, 1 specialty grade doctor, 1 specialist registrar, 13 hospital and community clinical nurse specialists, an end of life care facilitator, a fast track facilitator, and 2 band 4 care co-ordinators.

The expected workload includes shared care of up to 14 inpatient beds at Wakefield Hospice, advice and support to the community specialist palliative care team, and leading the community multidisciplinary meeting. The post holder will also review complex patients in their home with nursing colleagues or via telephone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide high-quality medical services to patients with specialist palliative care needs
  • To work collaboratively with the community specialist palliative care team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • To lead the community multidisciplinary meeting and review complex patients in their home with nursing colleagues or via telephone

Salary: £85,000 - £115,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
