Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Bioresources Technical Maintenance team at Anglian Water. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for improving the performance and efficiency of our operational assets and activities across all main Sludge Treatment Centre sites, with a priority focus on Steam Raising Plant (SRP) assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), boiler annuals, valve servicing, and emergency work on SRP assets and boiler plant.
  • Provide technical and specialist support to the Bioresources Technicians and the wider team.
  • Help enhance the performance of the SRP, Combined Heat and Power (CHP), and Gas/Biogas assets.
  • Ensure all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist with the reduction of operating costs.
  • Find the best solution to existing challenges.
  • Investigate, identify, and implement improvements to help deliver quality, legal, statutory, and business targets.
  • Investigate and propose capital solutions to maintain security and reliability of processes, helping improve their efficiency.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of SRP, CHP, and Gas/Biogas assets.
  • Identify and support the enhancement and performance improvement of SRP, CHP, and Biogas assets as well as resources for the Water Recycling business.
  • Utilize a wide range of source knowledge and information to find the best solutions to existing and future challenges.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or approved apprenticeship in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Experience of PPM.
  • Experience in working on SRP/Boiler Plant, CHP's, and/or gas/Biogas assets is not essential as full training can be provided.
  • BOAS qualification is not essential as full training can be provided.
  • Technical competence and experience with problem-solving.
  • Commercial and light to heavy industry electrical installation and fault finding would be beneficial.
  • PLC, SCADA, and control system knowledge, system interrogation, and fault finding would be beneficial.
  • Experience and a strong awareness of Health and Safety as well as Environmental legislation.
  • Flexible approach to work - this role can be very hands-on at times, also there is out-of-hours standby requirement.
  • Full driving license is essential for this role.
