Job Description

We are seeking a talented Senior Accountant Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to enhance their expertise in month-end accounting processes.

The successful appointee will have the opportunity to support the senior leadership team with providing financial information & KPI reports, and be involved in side projects around improvements, efficiencies and potentially supporting the FC with an up and coming accounting system implementation, if desired.

  • Be part of a team where your work directly impacts business growth and development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and contribute to meaningful projects aimed at process and system improvements.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of financial activities and further develop your management accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weekly reconciliation of the fixed asset register, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts for 5 business units.
  • Weekly Sales ledger invoice processing
  • Daily banking requirements and reconciliations
  • Maintain the 13-week cash flow forecast and deliver analyses to the Senior Leadership Team, using Excel
  • Update vehicle costings with daily mileage data.
  • Provide KPI data as needed
  • Support credit control processes as required
  • Assist in year-end audit preparations and schedules.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience working in an accounting department.

Salary & Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Company Pension scheme (NEST)
  • 33 days annual leave (inc Bank holidays)
  • Working Monday to Friday (40 hours/8 per day), start/end time flexible. 5 hours if preferred
  • Onsite free parking
