We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Group Development Volunteer. As a Group Development Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our service in Ripley, Derbyshire, and contribute to the growth and development of our peer-led support groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit a range of peer-led support groups in the district of your choice, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Inform and update the groups with relevant information provided by the Group Development Workers.
- Report any information or concerns to the Group Development Team.
- Encourage the groups to become self-sustainable and promote the importance of peer support within the groups.
Requirements:
- An interest in mental health or supporting those with mental illness.
- Knowledge of the local area.
- Excellent active listening and ability to build rapport.
- An understanding of the principles of Peer Support and Recovery.
- Able to relate to people from all backgrounds and the ability to remain non-judgmental.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality.
