We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialists across West London Children's Healthcare to develop and implement high-quality neurology services. This is a full-time, 1-year fixed-term position that offers a great opportunity for a Paediatric registered nurse to gain valuable experience and contribute to the growth of our developing neurology services.

As a Pediatric Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting the health needs of individuals with neurological diagnoses, supporting inpatient services in the delivery of acute patient care, and working with children, young people, and their families to ensure they understand their diagnosis and associated lifestyle adaptations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical: Receive referrals within the specialty from the healthcare team and respond to requests for expert advice and guidance.
  2. To conduct holistic assessments and provide supervision & guidance to colleagues in skilled history taking, physical examination, observation, and ordering, conducting and interpreting relevant tests and investigations.
  3. To work in collaboration with the multi-professional team, contributing expert, evidence-based knowledge and skills to relevant aspects of the patient's care and treatment.
  4. To address patients' risk factors and health promotion needs through comprehensive assessment of individuals for risk factors and early signs of illness.
  5. To build an environment of trust and rapport, enabling patient empowerment in their healthcare and acting as an advocate for the patient in treatment decisions and choices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Registered Children's Nurse qualification.
  • Relevant degree in nursing or health-related field.
  • Evidence of ongoing, continuing professional development within paediatric care.
  • Mentorship/Teaching/assessing course.

Salary: £42,000 - £59,000 per annum, dependent on experience. We welcome applications for flexible working arrangements and offer a range of benefits including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
