Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Victim Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to victims of crime, ensuring they receive the care and guidance they need to navigate the complex criminal justice system.

About the Role

As a Victim Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing emotional support and practical guidance to victims of crime, helping them to cope with the aftermath of a traumatic event.
  • Managing a caseload of referrals, working closely with victims, and other stakeholders to ensure they receive the best possible support.
  • Developing and implementing personalized support plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each victim.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure a seamless service delivery and maximize the impact of our support.
  • Becoming a specialist in one of the following areas: Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, FGM, Children and Young People, Gangs and Knife Crime, Modern Day Slavery, Hate Crimes, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, or Fraud.

Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals, either in a paid or voluntary capacity, or through personal experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • A basic level of education, with good verbal and written communication skills, essential for writing evidence and completing casework.
  • Good IT skills, including the ability to use a variety of systems for administrative duties and reporting.
  • Non-judgmental and non-discriminatory approach, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including victims, police, and other agencies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively listen and understand the needs of service users.
