Matron for Trauma and Orthopaedics Leadership Role

Job Summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior nurse to fill the role of Matron for Trauma and Orthopaedics. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving consistently excellent clinical quality standards, providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the clinical team, and supporting them in assuring the delivery of a contemporary, high-quality, progressive, effective, and evidence-based nursing service.
About the Role
The Trauma and Orthopaedic unit provides an elective service for patients with conditions that have developed over time, and a trauma service for patients who have been injured in accidents. The unit has six wards, one major trauma ward, one elective ward, two trauma wards, a trauma Assessment unit, an outpatient's department split over two sites, and a step-downward ward at the PAH.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- 1st Level Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC Register / HCPC Registration
- First degree or equivalent
- Masters or equivalent experience
- Specialist qualification

- Extensive experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position
