Job Overview

We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us as Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. This exciting role requires an experienced and dedicated senior nurse or AHP to lead our team in delivering high-quality nursing care from admission to discharge.

About Us

Our hospital provides an elective service for patients with conditions developed over time and a trauma service for those injured in accidents. We have six wards, including a major trauma ward, and are leading the way in innovative procedures such as minimally invasive surgery and computer-navigated surgery.

Job Description
  • Your leadership will guarantee delivery of high-quality nursing care, driving consistently excellent clinical quality standards by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the clinical team.
  • You will be responsible for assuring the delivery of a contemporary, high-quality, progressive, effective, and evidence-based nursing service.
  • Your key responsibilities will include innovating and changing care pathways, developing and delivering workforce, financial performance, and capital strategies for the benefit of patients and the trust.
Requirements
  • A 1st Level Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC Register/HCP Registration is essential.
  • First degree or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Masters or equivalent experience is necessary.
  • Specialist qualification, leadership training, management training, extensive knowledge of National and Local NHS and N&M agenda, extensive experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position, evidence of advanced leadership qualities, formal and informal teaching experience, staff and resource management experience are also required.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000-£110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including minimum 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), generous pension scheme, and access to NHS discounts. The city of Southampton offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
