Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition in the Guildford area.

About the Role

This part-time position (up to 25 hours per week) requires the tutor to conduct baseline assessments, plan and deliver lessons to bridge gaps in the pupil's education, and boost attainment levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of the pupil
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with the pupil and their family to establish goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • UK classroom teaching experience and ability to deliver tailored lesson plans
  • Creative, patient, and willing to think outside the box
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
Contract Details:
  • Location: Guildford
  • Position: SEN Tutor
  • Hours: up to 25 hours per week
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Duration: Ongoing until a school placement is found
  • Contract Type: Temporary/part-time
  • Pay rate: £25-30 per hour (£612.50-£750 per week)
