About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal District Energy Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our District Energy Department, you will play a leading role in delivering innovative and sustainable district heating and cooling projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design of low-carbon district heating and cooling projects, from conceptual design to operational performance improvement.
  • Undertaking and leading design activities, including feasibility studies, heat network zoning, hydraulic and energy modeling, and technical design and specification development.
  • Supporting the development of junior engineers and consultants, and promoting a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.
  • Engaging with the team and becoming a reliable and trusted team member.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled engineer with a strong background in district energy systems. You will have a good mechanical, chemical, electrical, process, or energy engineering-related degree, and be chartered or working towards chartered status within a recognized Professional Institution.

You will also have experience in designing low-carbon district heating and cooling schemes, techno-economic modeling of district heating and cooling, and the use of packaged software design tools such as EnergyPro, Termis, Hysopt, AutoCAD, and GIS.
