Structural Integrity Engineer

Holtec International, a global leader in clean energy solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Structural Integrity Engineer to join its team in the UK. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in designing the next generation of nuclear power stations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement structural assessments for power plant systems, structures, and components.
  • Assist in the development of the Structural chapter of the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) for the Generic Design Assessment (GDA).
  • Collaborate with the US SMR team to ensure seamless integration of structural design and analysis.
  • Conduct static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses using codes such as ANSYS.
  • Perform drop and impact analyses and target response using codes such as LS-DYNA.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations, including the nuclear regulators.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in an engineering or science-related discipline.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the principles of solid mechanics.
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage credibly within and external to the business.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills – able to present at multiple organizational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
  • Academic or industrial experience in stress analysis codes such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, STAAD.Pro, and GT STRUDL.
  • Experience of working with ASME code.
