Job Overview:
NHS Blood and Transplant plays a vital role in the NHS by collecting over 7,000 blood donations daily.
Our team provides a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, ensuring exceptional care.
Main Responsibilities:
You will learn valuable skills and be an essential team member, playing a vital role in saving lives daily.
You will be fully trained in setting up for sessions, taking blood from donors, and providing their first point of care.
You will ensure accurate records of donor sessions, manage the safe handling of blood and blood products, and offer a great service to donors.
About You:
Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience dealing with the public.
- Delivering quality customer service.
- Willingness to learn new technology skills and undergo digital training.
Qualifications and Training:
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- Willingness to undertake development and training to upskill.
- Valid full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
What We Offer:
- 6-week training period to prepare you for your career.
- Rotas published 6 weeks ahead of time.
- No night shifts.
- Payments for unsociable hours, overtime, meal, and driving allowances.

- 27 days per year plus 8 bank/public holiday, increasing to 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years.
