Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Marlborough Highways in North London. This is a challenging role that requires strong commercial skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of NEC and ICC forms of contract.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first-stage commercial lead on contracts and projects
  • Understand and communicate the commercial strategy across the contract
  • Manage timeous submissions of applications for payments and invoices
  • Maximise value entitlement under the contract
  • Oversee change control and valuation of change
  • Prepare and agree new rates and prices from first principles if required
  • Conduct site measurement
  • Update and prepare works programmes using Microsoft Project
  • Audit site health and safety
  • Procure and manage subcontractors and supply chains
  • Agree supply chain final accounts
  • Perform monthly cost/value reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Manage cost across the contract
  • Forecast revenue and cash
  • Manage work in progress and debt (cash collection)
  • Handle red and green claims as required
  • Interface with all stakeholders

Requirements
  • A strong background in the role and good working knowledge of the construction industry
  • Excellent numeracy, IT, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage key contractual relationships at all levels
  • Professionalism and ethical behaviour
