Senior Applied Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our team at Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited. As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing machine learning and artificial intelligence-based solutions to power our contextual classification technology.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced machine learning models to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our contextual advertising solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate successful experiments into large-scale production systems.
- Promote a culture of experimentation and applied science within the organization.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business opportunities and develop strategies to address them.
The Supply Quality organization is responsible for solving optimization problems for ad programs in Amazon and ensuring high-quality ad impressions. We develop advanced algorithms and infrastructure systems to optimize performance for our advertisers and publishers. Our team includes experts in distributed computing, machine learning, statistics, optimization, text mining, information theory, and big data systems.
Requirements- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field.
- Experience in applied research and machine learning model development.
- Experience with generative deep learning models and specifically LLM and/or LVM development.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
