About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applied Research Scientist to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs in London. As an Applied Research Scientist, you will play a key role in driving innovation and advancing the state-of-the-art in natural language processing and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cutting-edge NLP and ML systems to solve complex problems in the industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research projects and deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop and maintain large-scale NLP and ML models and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Linguistics, Mathematics) or Master's with significant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying NLP and ML systems in industry or academia.
  • Strong software engineering skills, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Excellent communication and data analysis skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with large language models, relevant publications, and advanced proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
