About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Adviser to join our Medical Workforce Team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive Medical HR Service to meet the needs of our divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a robust medical and dental recruitment service in line with NHS Employment Checks Standard, Care Quality Commission, and NHSLA requirements.
  • Lead on major medical and dental recruitment campaigns for the Trust.
  • Responsible for advertising all medical and dental appointments and keeping track of progress on TRAC and issuing contracts.
  • Responsible for the organisation of Consultant appointments, ensuring processes are conducted in accordance with trust policy, NHS Appointment of Consultant regulations, and Royal College protocols.
  • Monitor emails from line managers and escalate to Medical Workforce Team Leader as appropriate.
  • Produce KPI reports on a weekly basis and distribute to the CBUs, such as AAC tracker, establishment reports, fixed-term contract monitoring.
Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent experience in HR environment.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • IT qualifications such as ECDL or equivalent level of computer literacy using all Microsoft office packages.
  • Associate Membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Experience
  • Experience of working in a recruitment role.
  • Experience of planning, managing, and monitoring projects for improvement.
  • Experience of using, reviewing, and establishing work processes to respond to changing requirements.
  • Experience of developing, documenting, and managing the delivery of Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience of planning, organising, and scheduling activities of self and team in a pressured working environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience of advising managers on the employment Terms and Conditions for all Medical and Dental Staff.
  • A working knowledge of employment law.
  • Experience of recruiting professional roles involving liaison with professional bodies.
  • Previous HR experience with the NHS.
  • Medical recruitment experience in setting up advisory appointments committee for consultants.
  • Experience of dealing with complex HR and payroll issues.
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • NHSLA and other governance requirements for recruitment and temporary staffing functions, i.e. NHS Employment Check Standards, use of Framework Agencies, implications of Working Time Regulations.
