Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Surveyor to join our team at Bruton Knowles Limited. As a key member of our Compensation and Compulsory Purchase team, you will be responsible for delivering contract work to Transport and Utility clients in a reliable and cost-efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Maximise fee income through effective fee earning and client management.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across the transportation and utility sectors.
  3. Ensure the successful delivery of major and minor projects, managing project surveyors and referencers to achieve project goals.
  4. Develop new work opportunities and negotiate compensation in accordance with client instructions.
  5. Manage the utilisation of time for the team's benefit, maximising efficiency and optimising profitability.
  6. Deliver agreed budgets and targets, while maintaining high standards of client service.
  7. Assist in the delivery of agreed budgets and manage own performance, exceeding in core technical skills.
  8. Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  9. Provide support to other offices as directed, and undertake CPO and compensation advice within BK.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. You should have a strong understanding of our market sector and be at a senior level, either as an Associate or wishing to progress to this level.

Qualifications:

A formal qualification to degree level, accredited by the RICS, and membership of the RICS are essential requirements for this role.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion, with a high level of attention to detail.
  2. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  3. Willingness to be part of a team and interact with other professional staff.
  4. Ability to learn new skills and working methods, and be adaptable to change.
  5. Ability to accept responsibility and work on own initiative, within parameters defined by the immediate performance manager.
  6. Willingness to undertake business development and a proactive approach to work.
  7. Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and recommendations.
  8. Ideally, a minimum of 2 years PQE and a good working knowledge of IT, particularly Microsoft Office packages.
  9. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
