Job Title: Senior Contract Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Surveyor to join our team at Bruton Knowles Limited. As a Senior Contract Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering Compensation and Compulsory Purchase work to Transport and Utility clients in a reliable and cost-efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and deliver Compensation and Compulsory Purchase projects to Transport and Utility clients.
  2. Organise project surveyors and referencers to ensure successful delivery of major and minor projects.
  3. Develop work from new and existing sector client contacts.
  4. Maximise fee income and ensure delivery of service.
  5. Manage the utilisation of time for the team's benefit, maximising efficiency and optimising profitability.
  6. Deliver agreed budgets and targets.
  7. Negotiate compensation in accordance with clients' instructions.
  8. Procure new work instructions wherever possible.
  9. Assist in the delivery of agreed budgets and manage own performance.
  10. Attend training sessions and team meetings.
  11. Provide support to other offices as directed.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a self-starter with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. You should have a high level of attention to detail, be able to manage time effectively, and be willing to be part of a team.

Qualifications:

A formal qualification to degree level that is accredited by the RICS and a Member of the RICS is essential.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Self-starter with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion with a high level of attention to detail.
  3. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  4. Willingness to be part of a team and interact with other professional staff.
  5. Ability to learn new skills and working methods and be adaptable to change.
  6. Ability to accept responsibility and work on their own initiative.
  7. Willingness to undertake business development.
  8. Proactive approach to work.
  9. Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and recommendations.
  10. Ideally a minimum of 2 years PQE.
  11. A good working knowledge of IT is essential, particularly familiarity with and understanding of the Microsoft Office packages.
  12. A full driving licence is essential.
