Job Summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an experienced Forecast and Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operational planning team, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in forecasting, resource modeling, and scheduling approaches to support the delivery of our national tele-health and tele-care service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operational Planning Manager in scoping and reviewing new strategic operational service initiatives, calculating FTE requirements, and recommending deployment approaches.
  • Develop and recommend workforce/capacity planning models to derive strategic workforce plans for all NHS 24 front-line services.
  • Authorize timesheets, department overtime, and excess hours within agreed budget levels.
  • Deputize for the Operational Planning Manager.
  • Continuously identify ways to develop senior managers' knowledge of performance and planning data.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level with extensive knowledge and experience in specialist resource planning within a contact center environment.
  • Strong proficiency in workforce management systems and analytical skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create workforce/capacity planning models using contact center modeling calculations and formulas.
  • Experience working in a pressurized environment, delivering to tight deadlines, and providing input at senior management/director level.

Benefits:

NHS 24 offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a permanent contract on Band 7 £48,788 - £56,747 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service. We also offer hybrid working, 35 days annual leave (rising to 41) pro-rata, and enrollment into the Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) pension scheme.
