About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at the Darwin Centre for Young People. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to young people aged 13-18.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the care pathway for young people from referral to discharge, ensuring effective communication with families, referrers, and external agencies.
  2. Have overall management responsibility for the delivery of care within the unit, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  3. Lead a team of clinical staff in the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based practice, ensuring regular supervision, appraisal, and mandatory training.
  4. Ensure that all children and families have comprehensive and collaborative care plans that include evidence-based assessments and interventions.
  5. Oversee and support the team's management of clinical risk and provide advice and guidance when necessary.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in Nursing.
  • Current registration with the NMC.
  • Post-graduate qualification or significant experience related to child, adolescent, or family mental health.
Desirable
  • Management qualification.
  • Training in supervision.
  • Physical intervention training.
