With facilities in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and the US, we are seeking a talented and experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead our supply chain strategy.
The Position
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the group's supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall performance of the supply chain function. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Work with purchasing teams to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, evaluating supplier performance, negotiating contracts, and establishing strong relationships with key vendors.
- Develop and coordinate with purchasing and warehousing teams to execute inventory management strategies, balancing supply and demand, minimizing excess inventory, and reducing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, sales, finance, and marketing teams, to align supply chain activities with business objectives and customer needs.
- Identify potential risks and disruptions to the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, transportation delays, or natural disasters, and develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of the supply chain function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record of success in progressively responsible roles.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and systems, such as ERP systems, inventory management tools, and transportation management systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with management of various material compliance policies is a plus.
- Ability to travel 20-50% (between sites and suppliers).
