About the Role:

GSL Education is collaborating with a special school in Poole to find a qualified Child Disability Support Worker to join their team. This role is crucial in providing tailored support to students, ensuring they can achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive setting.

About the School:

The special school has exceptional assistance from its very own NHS and privately commissioned SEND professionals who have expertise in treatments, health and well-being. They feel that providing a diverse range of interventions and enrichment activities is critical to fulfilling all of their children's needs and giving them as many opportunities as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with disabilities, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care and learning plans.
  • Support the physical, emotional, and educational development of children, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and document child progress, providing feedback and making adjustments to support strategies as needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions, fostering a sense of inclusion and community.

Requirements:

  • Have previous experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Have relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be compassionate, patient and resilient nature.
  • Have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
