About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Services Support Officer to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with the implementation of Welsh Government's new recycling regulation requirements and undertaking environmental audits across our premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental audits in accordance with Health Board policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Assist Technical Services Officers with service improvements, including progressing compliance to the recycling agenda.
  • Coordinate the collection of data and produce reports highlighting good practice and non-compliance in relation to waste, energy, and environmental management.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to staff, suppliers, and external agencies on waste and environmental management.
  • Implement new systems and procedures as a result of service changes to operating and legal requirements/practices.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget reports and identify projects to improve Health Board compliance with waste and environmental management.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using electronic and paper-based systems, including updating relevant databases.
Person Specification
  • GCSE English and Maths at C
  • NVQ3 plus IOSH/NEBOSH Environmental Management Qualification equivalent to diploma level, or equivalent.
  • Desirable: experience of working within waste/environmental fields or knowledge of waste/environmental fields.
