Job Role Summary

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient experiences, ensuring seamless registration and check-in processes, and providing top-notch customer service to our patients and visitors. As a Patient Access Officer, you will be part of our dynamic Patient Access Team, working closely with the Registration/Admissions Supervisor to achieve our goal of world-class care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet and greet all outpatients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner.
  • Facilitate same-day and future appointment requests and referrals.
  • Ensure accurate collection and verification of patient demographic and financial information.
  • Assist with patient check-in where required.
  • Liaise with insurance companies and third-party payers to ensure necessary authorizations are in place.
  • Collect payments using our integrated payment systems.
  • Manage the cash drawer and comply with cash reconciliation and other cash management processes.
  • Provide cost estimates to self-pay patients.
  • Promote the CCL MyChart App to enable patients to manage their healthcare information.
  • Communicate effectively with other hospital departments to deliver a seamless patient journey.

Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a patient-facing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with hospital computer software is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
