Technical Design Specialist

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Technical Design Specialist to join our team at James Lambeth Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will play a vital role in delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
**About the Role:
The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of experience in site or design office environments, with a strong understanding of commercial awareness (NEC3,4 & JCT), compliance with QHSE legislation, specifications, standards, and design. They will be heading towards technical competence in geotechnical and structural design.
You will be responsible for working on a range of innovative and technological areas, including 3D, 4D, and 5D modelling, GIS, computer-based design, and visualisation. This will involve providing technical support to the business across various projects, supporting the delivery of outline designs at tender stage, temporary works, and permanent works designs at contract stage.
In this role, you will liaise with internal Contracts and Estimating Staff to provide design support, create models, and visualisations for tender submissions and contracts support. You will also maintain compliance with relevant procedures, provision of documentation for Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety (CDM Regulations).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Work to and within company procedures, policies, and regularly communicate with your line manager.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and external designers.
- Maintain compliance with relevant procedures and provision of documentation for Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety (CDM Regulations).
- Liaise with internal Contracts and Estimating Staff to provide design support, create models, and visualisations for tender submissions and contracts support.
- Liaise with internal design team to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled and expectations are met.
- Produce working drawings using AutoCAD, Civils 3D Revit, and Navisworks.
- Provide cost-effective technical solutions.
- Deliver design drawings and supporting calculations for temporary and permanent works at tender stage and contract stage.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- HND or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn Autodesk software packages, ideally AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Robot, Navisworks, and Infraworks.
- Knowledge of BIM and design analysis software.
**Salary:** We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
