Network Engineer Opportunity in Brighton

Reed Technology is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their internal team, working from home 3 days a week. This exciting role offers a salary of 40,000 to 45,000, depending on experience.

About the Role:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the effective and secure operation of the business IT networks, implementing changes and enhancements as directed. The successful candidate will use specialist technical knowledge to monitor, detect, and resolve issues, working with colleagues and external agencies to investigate and resolve escalated issues.

  • To administer the passive and active equipment comprising the IT network, including network cabling, switches, routers, security systems, and other related hardware and software.
  • To provide specialist technical advice to colleagues and external agencies on IT network usage, fault diagnosis, equipment installation, maintenance, and configuration.
  • To maintain the security of specialist technical services and infrastructure, particularly in implementing Information Security Policies.
  • To plan, advise, prioritize, and implement limited IT infrastructure projects and new service development, liaising with colleagues and external suppliers.
  • To regularly review processes and systems, making technical recommendations for improvements and resolutions to ensure efficient IT network operation and improvement.
  • To assist in training, development, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with at least 3 years' experience working within networking engineering. Essential skills include TCP/IP administration on one of Linux or Windows server platforms, and self-motivation to learn through books, practical work, observation, formal training, and initiative.
