Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable, zero-carbon design solutions for mechanical building services systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing mechanical documents, including equipment specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Pipework sizing calculations for various systems, including LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS, Steam, Gas, Flue, Compressed Air, and Lube Oil.
  • Equipment sizing, including pumps, PHEs, boilers, CHPs, heat pumps, thermal stores, buffer tanks, calorifiers, fans, AHUs, chillers, and more.
  • Heat gain/loss calculations and heating/cooling loads and respective profiles.
  • Functional Design Specifications.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain engineering solutions.
  • Experience in building services design, site surveys, inspections, snagging, client and design team meetings.
