Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team at Harmony Fire. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation of management accounts, ledgers, and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review management accounts to full review level, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own and report on variance analysis across the P&L, proactively investigating and resolving with departments across the business.
  • Prepare and review all scheduled Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, ensuring complete and accurate reporting.
  • Manage the fixed assets accounting process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate specific month-end activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Support the performance of year-end processes, including providing information to external auditors.
  • Support the review of company minimum control standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the purchase ledger team with payment runs and open PO reviews, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the sales ledger team with framework and retention reporting, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Suggest ideas for continuous improvement within the area of expertise, taking steps to implement changes as agreed with management.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA.
  • Prior accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Experience of Xero or other systems, including full journal, reporting, and reconciliation routines.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict reporting deadlines, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to take an analytical approach, with good attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
