**Job Summary**

The Hartford is seeking a highly skilled Professional Liability Underwriter to join our London Financial Lines team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the growth and profitability of our Professional Liability portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Contribute to the underwriting of our renewal portfolio of business through proactive account review, analysis of underwriting trends, and improvement plans to maintain profitability.
  • Provide technical underwriting support to the PI Underwriting team.
  • Underwrite in line with The Hartford's framework, including Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules, and Principles.
  • Support the development and execution of The Hartford's Professional Indemnity underwriting and marketing strategies.
  • Produce and develop new business through London Market brokers and international brokers.
  • Run and produce internal reports and figures using Pipeline, GURU 2.0, and the International Underwriting Dashboard.
  • Monitor the performance of binders and line slips and analyze their progression.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of new broker relationships.
  • Identify and develop new products and geographic territories for expansion of the PI book.
  • Ensure compliance with The Hartford's best practice and Lloyd's regulations.
  • Liaise with the claims team to ensure appropriate settlement of claims.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual reporting of Underwriting results.

**Requirements**

  • Prioritize and organize workload and meet deadlines and team requirements.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of general insurance and its underlying principles.
  • Knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and/or private customers.
  • Willingness to continue developing knowledge of Insurance and related issues through formal and informal learning.

**Experience**

  • Relevant experience working in the London Insurance market, specifically within the Financial Lines area.
