Electrical Systems Validation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Validation Engineer to join our team at CV Library in Cranfield.
This is a long-term contract role that offers the potential for several years of work and the opportunity to work on various projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with validating vehicle functions, performance, reliability, and regulations for infotainment, displays, and parking systems.
- Support the EE Test team with validating vehicle functions, performance, reliability, and regulations.
- Develop test plans, including change/variance impact analysis and resource management.
- Investigate concerns, perform root cause analysis, and recommend countermeasures to design, aftermarket, and manufacturing departments.
- Sometimes support field investigations.
- Ensure the quality of electrical systems meets client standards.
- Complete validation within project milestones.
- Have working knowledge of Renault and Mitsubishi electrical architecture.
- Have a strong understanding of electrical theory and electronic device operation.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Experience with software applications in vehicle ECUs, including flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
- Ability to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
- Familiar with network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Proficient in CANalyzer, CANape software, or similar tools, with the ability to interpret results.
- Capable of reading system circuit diagrams and identifying electrical connections.
- Familiar with digital oscilloscopes and basic electrical test equipment.
- Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, having completed at least two vehicle developments or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel abroad occasionally for up to 10 weeks at short notice.
- Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritize and multitask across multiple projects.
Estimated salary: £80-£100 per hour.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in automotive electrical engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
