Electrical Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub systems and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.

About the role:

  • You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and external specialists to provide technical guidance and support to ensure that our systems meet the required electromagnetic standards.
  • You will be responsible for specifying and managing requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms or programmes.
  • You will advise design teams on EMC requirements and design considerations, and liaise with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • You will design and implement system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
  • You will mentor and coach Engineers within the team.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
  • Experience of design for EMC compliance.
  • Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team.
