Intervention Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intervention Officer to join our team at Hestia Charity. As an Intervention Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with a history of offending behaviour to make positive changes in their lives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide keywork support to a small number of residents, coordinating their stay in the service and providing flexible and responsive support and encouragement.
- Deliver intensive casework, support and monitoring of general, risk and support needs, facilitated by keywork sessions, community meetings and general day-to-day contact with residents.
- Contribute to the delivery of sentence plans in conjunction with colleagues in probation, the police and other external agencies.
- Provide administrative and other support to colleagues, particularly in the preparation, facilitation and evaluation of purposeful activities.
- Follow protocols, encourage compliance and take enforcement action as necessary, particularly around drug and alcohol testing requirements and curfews.
- Ensure that colleagues, multi-agency partners and management are informed and updated around risk and safeguarding issues as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain the health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene of the Approved Premises and the well-being of its occupants.
- Work with the team to ensure that the service is a psychologically informed environment and meets the criteria for an Enabling Environment accreditation.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
- Knowledge and experience of delivering direct keywork, supporting those with a history of offending behaviour and delivering meaningful interventions to encourage positive change.
- Knowledge and understanding of the antecedents to, and consequences of, offending behaviour.
- Demonstrable ability to empower residents to make choices and take control of their offending behaviours.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with others to provide a flexible and responsive approach.
- Capacity to maintain firm boundaries, using authority legitimately while working pro-socially and positively with people.
- Ability to receive, process and accurately record detailed information, sharing it with others as appropriate and within the framework of confidentiality.
- Understanding of the emotional and behavioural impact of trauma and ability to work with people who may display a range of emotions, behaviours and communication challenges.
- Ability to work as part of a team, leading by example and taking a pragmatic, hands-on approach to practical tasks.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills and ability to produce professional letters and correspondence.
- Ability to learn quickly, gather information and make defensible decisions.
