About the Role

Fruition IT is seeking a highly skilled Principal .Net Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fantastic organisation in a period of growth, shaping their application estate and delivering platforms that drive real impact.

As a Principal .Net Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, building, testing, and maintaining .Net applications and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with a team of Software Engineers, embed security, stability, and scalability in development and deployment processes, and promote a Software Engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build .Net Applications: Collaborate with the team to design, build, test, and maintain .Net applications and CI/CD pipelines that support all internal and external digital services.
  • Embed Security and Scalability: Embed security, stability, and scalability in the development and deployment processes of services.
  • Lead and Grow the Software Engineering Function: Lead and grow the Software Engineering function by offering technical direction for the internal team and external vendors.
  • Support Business Case Development: Support business case development by clearly articulating benefits and returns on investment, ensuring solutions are delivered to meet time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Design Solutions with Security Controls: Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, intentionally built to counter security threats as a fundamental component of each solution.
Requirements
  • Proven Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading skilled Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers, including mentoring and advocating for best practices.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise, ideally with a background in software engineering, and a deep understanding of software engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Azure Experience: Extensive experience in developing and maintaining applications on the Microsoft stack, including C#, .Net, and related Microsoft tools for Azure deployment.
  • Cloud Platform Experience: Experience in designing, securing, scaling, and managing cloud platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Agile Tools and Practices: Experience with Agile tools and practices, such as Azure DevOps.
  • Containerisation: Strong understanding of containerisation, ideally with experience deploying Docker containers into production environments.
  • Software/DevOps/Platform Engineering Methodologies: Knowledge of current trends in Software/DevOps/Platform Engineering methodologies, tools, and emerging solutions, with the ability to apply them where appropriate.
