Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Sustainability and Net Zero Consultant to join our growing Housing Sustainability and Net Zero team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable industry experience of supporting housing sustainability programmes, with a strong understanding of net zero and ESG policy and strategy in the social housing sector. This role involves line managing junior consultants, developing business cases, managing projects, and supporting social landlords and public sector bodies through the delivery journey of their net-zero strategies and investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the analysis of housing asset data to benchmark energy performance and develop investment scenarios against energy performance and net zero targets
  • Support social landlords to measure their environmental performance and put in place ESG strategies and reporting frameworks
  • Develop and deliver guidance and/or tools to assist housing providers with retrofit projects
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying new business opportunities and supporting bid writing and management

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a degree qualification or equivalent relevant work experience in a sustainability or environment-related topic, with a focus on housing and/or the wider built environment. They will also possess a systematic approach to project management, with extensive experience of managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, and excellent communication skills, able to develop succinct and accurate communications covering complex subject matter for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Estimated Salary

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
