Senior Highways Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highways Engineer to join our team in Slough, working on exciting projects that shape the future of transportation infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Highways Engineer to lead and deliver high-quality designs for minor and major highway schemes and traffic management projects. You will be responsible for producing 3D highways designs from 2D layouts, including models, cross sections, and contours, as well as designing civil infrastructure components and liaising with statutory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver high-quality designs for highway schemes and traffic management projects
  • Produce 3D highways designs from 2D layouts, including models, cross sections, and contours
  • Design civil infrastructure components, including detailed and preliminary highway (S38/S278) and drainage designs
  • Liaise with statutory authorities to support project delivery
  • Oversee and check drawings (AutoCAD) and manage project timelines and budgets
  • Lead highway projects, ensuring delivery exceeds client expectations
  • Support and mentor junior staff in their professional development
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in highway design, maintenance, and improvement schemes using AutoCAD and Civils 3D
  • Strong knowledge of highway assets, design standards (DMRB), and relevant legislation
  • Excellent project management and financial skills
