About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 7 Midwife, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and leading the nursing team on a shift-by-shift basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical nursing care to premature infants and their families, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Lead the nursing team on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring effective staff allocation and skill-mix, and managing cot availability and service provision.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues to develop and implement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Divisional and Trust guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of the nursing team, providing coaching, mentoring, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with a specialization in Neonatal Nursing.
  • Experience of working in a leadership role, with a proven track record of developing and implementing evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, instruct and direct others, and work as a team leader.
  • Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
